FACTOR ONE
/ The Fastest UCI-Legal Road Bike in the World
The ONE is more than a bike - It is the sum of every lesson learned, every limit pushed, and every risk taken to make speed tangible.
OVERVIEW
The Factor ONE represents the culmination of years of aerodynamic research and development.
Building on insights from the Olympic-record-breaking HANZŌ Track and the acclaimed OSTRO VAM, this bike integrates advanced knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), wind tunnel testing, and real-world performance data.
The design focuses on manipulating turbulence around spinning wheels and maximising speed while maintaining stability. When the UCI relaxed key design regulations, Factor’s development team pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in aerodynamics, rider fit, and handling. In its first public appearance as a prototype, the ONE won a stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné.
This wasn’t a debut. It was a declaration.

Key Features
The ONE uses an integrated bar system without a traditional stem. Sizes are designated 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, corresponding to stem equivalents of 110 through 150 mm with three high rise options offering an additional 20mm of stack.
Up to 15 mm of spacers can be added per bike. When combined with the selection of the high- and low-rise bar, this gives riders 35 mm of shifter stack height range.
Frame and fork optimised for up to 34 mm tyre width, as measured. Designed to smooth out airflow around the wheels and reduce the drag.
Factor’s “mini-UDH” ensures future component compatibility with a low-profile design that minimises bulk.
Using the same bottom bracket standard as the OSTRO VAM, the ONE can accept a wide variety of cranksets to facilitate component preferences.
Ensures the frame can neatly accommodate a wide range of chainring sizes. Fits a maximum 68T chainring in a 1x configuration and a max 60-42T in a 2x set-up.
Keeps the mass low while providing easy, secure access to the Di2 Battery.
Independent Performance Results
The ONE’s aerodynamic advantage has been validated in wind-tunnel testing at Guelph and SASI
Factor’s founder, Rob Gitelis, and Chief Engineer, Graham Shrive, set out to develop the fastest road bike in the world. With the launch of the new ONE, they have succeeded in doing exactly that.
- >8% faster than the OSTRO VAM 2.0
- Maintains aero advantage beyond 15° yaw, where competing platforms lose efficiency
- Stage-winning performance on its first-ever WorldTour appearance at the Critérium du Dauphiné
Extreme Aerodynamics
The R&D process drew from multiple breakthrough projects.
Research on the HANZŌ Track revealed how airflow disrupts around the front tyre, while internal testing showed that moving beyond traditional fork constraints could significantly improve performance. The OSTRO VAM demonstrated that aerodynamic efficiency could be achieved alongside low weight and responsive handling. These projects identified weaknesses in conventional designs and provided solutions to address them. The goal for the ONE was clear: surpass the OSTRO VAM’s performance by reimagining core design elements rather than simply refining existing ones.

Focused Modern Geometry
Aerodynamics was only half the mission.
Factor’s research found the modern racer’s position has shifted, using narrower bars, more forward saddles, shorter cranks, all of which push the rider’s weight further over the front wheel. Without carefully focused geometry, this can upset handling balance and increase crash risk. The ONE’s geometry was designed to accommodate these WorldTour positions without compromise. By decoupling the handlebar mount from the steering axis, Factor can give riders the extreme reach they want without resorting to unstable, overlong stems. The bottom bracket drop was adjusted to compensate for the raised centre of gravity from shorter cranks and larger tyres, preserving stability and keeping front/rear weight balance in check. Even in the smallest sizes, the ONE keeps identical steering geometry to the largest frames, a rarity in high-performance road bikes.

Advanced Use of CFD
Advanced CFD technology enabled the testing of hundreds of virtual prototypes before physical wind tunnel validation.
Factor’s development team applied years of experience to interpret simulation data and refine every design decision. Beyond pure aerodynamics, the design addresses the evolving biomechanics of modern racers who rotate forward over the front of the bike with forward saddles, shorter cranks, narrower bars, and extended reach. The UCI’s updated regulations provided new design freedoms, and the ONE capitalises on these changes to optimise rider positioning while maintaining handling balance and proper centre of gravity.

Dictating Airflow
Wind tunnel testing proved what Factor’s CFD trials had been indicating
The Bayonet Fork + “Chin” Fairing system produced the lowest drag and the most stable yaw performance, holding its advantage beyond 15° where competitors fell apart. The ONE’s front-end design isn’t simply about cutting the air. It dictates where the air goes next, ensuring smoother flow across the entire system. The design controls airflow at the front end and sustains an aerodynamic advantage deep into crosswind yaw. The UCI’s rule changes allowed Factor to escape the dimensional prison of the traditional fork box. That freedom was used to design the wide fork with a ducted chin, a forward-projected structure that manages the “spillover” drag created when airflow detaches from the front tyre and crown area.

SIZING HELP
Selecting the right fit for your new Factor ONE is simple.
The new cockpit system removes traditional stem lengths to give you a clean, integrated setup.
If you currently ride a Factor OSTRO VAM you can easily match this to the ONE.
Frame: Choose the same frame size you normally ride.
Seatpost: Select the ONE Setback seatpost (this replaces the OSTRO Zero Setback post).
Stem: Pick the stem number that matches the stem length you use on an OSTRO: 110mm = 1, 120mm = 2, 130mm = 3, 140mm = 4, 150mm = 5. The 20mm longer reach of the ONE is already factored into this calculation.
If you currently ride a different bike or just need help with sizing, our team are on hand to support you.
HANDLEBARS
- Low Bar: Our standard, aggressive-position bar. Available in sizes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- High Bar: This option directly mimics the hand position of an OSTRO VAM using a 20mm rise in the bars curvature. It is available in sizes 1, 2, and 3 only: 1H, 2H, 3H
Both Low and High handlebar styles can be adjusted with up to 15mm of spacers.
