FACTOR SLiCK

Triathlon Missile

The Factor SLiCK is a Triathlon bike driven by an obsession with speed. It combines boundary-pushing performance with the adjustability and practicality that every athlete needs. Built around Factor’s iconic and highly effective Twin Vane EVO downtube, the SLiCK is the most technically advanced triathlon bike available.

OVERVIEW

The SLiCK is designed for race day and total system performance between T1 and T2, meaning it’s super-aero and much more besides.

Its huge range of adjustment enables you to find your optimum position for power, comfort and aero, so you can ride fast and still feel good on the run. What’s more, it’s ready to carry what you need without adding drag, thanks to the seat tube mounted Carbon StoraPak for tools, direct-mount top tube bag for nutrition, and between-the-arms bottle mount. The frame is stiff and precise, delivering confident handling that allows you to stay in the extensions more of the time.

The SLiCK uses all of Factor’s aerodynamics expertise and features the brand’s iconic, unique and wind tunnel proven Twin Vane EVO down tube and Wide Stance seat stays to guide the airflow, making it searingly quick as well as highly accommodating. Development began in CFD software, then moved to the wind tunnel for aerodynamic testing and validation, and was signed off by some of the world’s best triathletes during road testing. The result is a complete package of performance. It’s like flying first class.

TWIN VANE EVO DOWN TUBE

A signature Factor feature since the brand’s first bike, the Twin Vane down tube boosts both aerodynamics and frame stiffness. The Factor engineering team continued to work tirelessly on the development of the concept, initially using CFD (computational fluid dynamics, a virtual wind tunnel) to create, refine and test shapes, and later with physical prototypes in a real wind tunnel.

The Twin Vane EVO down tube delivers high frame stiffness because the two spars brace against each other. Simply, you get the high stiffness of a huge down tube without the aero penalty. Why have so much stiffness for triathlon? Confidence and efficiency. A bike that’s wanting for frame stiffness is disconcerting to ride, which makes it tough to hold your optimum position, and it can’t transfer all of your power, all wasting energy.

COCKPIT

AERODYNAMICS

Your riding position is a critical element of your triathlon performance. To develop a cockpit that’s both super-aero and offers a full range of easy adjustment, Factor partnered with 51 Speedshop.

The mono riser mounting system allows height adjustment through a simple two-bolt design and minimises frontal area. The basebar is nearly invisible to the wind thanks to its proven Kamm-Tail airfoil design and is defiantly rigid against even the strongest sprint efforts. The proprietary arm pads provide Iron-distance comfort and offer lots of adjustment: width 142mm-255mm; height 60mm; reach 50mm.
